The 2024 Data Infrastructure Technology Summit, hosted by DOIT Media, was grandly held at the beautiful Shiwai Taoyuan Hotel in Chengdu, the land of abundance, on April 24, 2024.

The summit is themed "Unleashing the Value of Data Elements," focusing on the synergy of computing power and storage power, and discussing multidimensional hot topics such as technical innovation in intelligent computing, distributed storage technology and applications. Dozens of data scientists, IT experts, leading enterprises, and industry user representatives are invited to participate in a main forum and two special forums, engaging with over 500 on-site representatives and more than 50,000 online guests to jointly explore the maximization of data value and shape the future of enterprises and society.

The development of technology is the key to driving the development of data elements and new productivity. The "Three-Year Action Plan for Data Elements (2024-2026)" mentions that "building a digital economy with data as the key element is an inevitable requirement for promoting high-quality development," further highlighting the value and significance of data elements.

In recent years, Chengdu has successively introduced top-level plans such as the "Chengdu Implementation Plan for Promoting the Development of the Digital Economy" and the "Opinions on Creating a New Ecological Development and Cultivating New Momentum for the New Economy," proposing that by 2025, the scale of the city's artificial intelligence industry should exceed 150 billion yuan, the number of innovative artificial intelligence application scenarios should reach over 100, and the city should become the leading hub for the development of the artificial intelligence industry at the national level.

Data shows that in 2022, the scale of Chengdu's artificial intelligence industry reached 61.6 billion yuan, ranking sixth in the country in terms of comprehensive industrial strength and first in terms of industry growth rate. In the first half of 2023, the scale of Chengdu's big data industry reached 57.302 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth rate of 32.16%; the scale of the artificial intelligence industry reached 42.4 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth rate of 36.9%. Chengdu is empowering its development with new momentum by driving the "digital industrialization" and "industrial digitalization" through the development of a new engine for the digital economy.

The Chengdu government work report for this year mentioned the need to strengthen the core industries of the digital economy and vigorously cultivate national-level cross-industry and cross-domain industrial internet platforms. As the second city in the country to operate a supercomputing and intelligent computing dual center, following Shanghai, and one of the eight national hubs for integrated computing power networks, Chengdu provides important information infrastructure support for the stable development of the artificial intelligence industry and the digital economy. The Chengdu Intelligent Computing Center has also been included in the national artificial intelligence computing power strategic system.

The Chengdu Intelligent Computing Center covers three major platforms: the artificial intelligence computing power platform, the urban intelligent brain platform, and the scientific research and innovation platform. After the first phase of the project goes online, the computing power will reach 300P FLOPS@FP16. Centered around Ascend and the artificial intelligence industry, it aims to create an innovative driving force, build an artificial intelligence industry ecosystem, and promote the rapid development of the digital economy.

Liao Xian, the Director of Smart City Operations at Chengdu Smart City Operation Center, pointed out in the opening report titled "Chengdu Smart City Operation Center: The Smart Engine for Urban Governance and Innovation" that the center not only provides computing power, but also offers a "construction team" to ensure the construction process of the smart Rongcheng High-tech Zone with the help of an excellent team and a large number of intelligent tools such as robots and AIGC.
